10:30am WORSHIP

“Deeds, Not Creeds”
Rev. Parisa Parsa
with musicians Tim Steele, Franc Graham & Claudia Wellington

We don’t ask members to sign on to a belief statement in this congregation, but we do ask folks to act according to their deepest values. Many of us would rather show our faith in works of love, service and connection than tell it in words. This morning we will take the next step in our congregational goal to be a leader in service to our larger communities by inviting everyone to make a commitment to service (or let us know what you’re already doing). We’ve got tools to get you connected, and the hope that bringing to light all the ways we can and do live our faith will illuminate the path of our collective action as well.

Child dedication ceremony Sunday, October 20th

Would you like to have your infant or child formally welcomed into this faith community with the commitment that we will be there to support you in the challenges of parenting and your child in the challenges of growing up? If so, please let Rev. Parisa know by October 13 by sending her an email: minister@fpmilton.org

Would you like to offer a testimonial in worship?

This year, we are asking members to give a brief, 3 minute reflection on some aspect of their spiritual journey or beliefs. If you would be interested in offering a testimonial in worship, please let the worship committee know by sending an email to Joe Ayoub: jsayoub@icloud.com

Learn About Jericho Road Roxbury this Sunday

It’s been a great first year! Please join us this week in worship to learn more about the role First Parish has played in the successful launch of Jericho Road Roxbury, an innovative collaboration with the UU Urban Ministry which builds the capacity of nonprofits organizations in Roxbury. Our parish has already contributed the time and talents of several members, as well as our financial support. The collection this week will be the kickoff for our fall fundraising campaign. Please bring your checkbooks to church this Sunday, and give as you are willing and able, to help us continue building bridges outside our walls! Please feel free to reach out to Elise Henricks, tonyelise@earthlink.net or Carolyn Newman, rickandcarolyn@comcast.net for more information about Jericho Road.
