Summmer Worship @ 10:30 am in Parish Hall
Worship Leader: Chris Alburger
Chris Alburger is a graduate of Harvard Divinity School. Chris has served as Assistant Chaplain at Suffolk University Interfaith Center and Research Associate for the Pluralism Project. Chris is interested in the intersection of religion and politics, especially interfaith approaches to social justice.
Sermon title: Serenity, Courage, and Wisdom
Description: We all need some amount of control, order, and stability, to counterbalance unpredictability, changes, and losses in our lives. But trying to control our lives quickly turns into trying to control other people and situations, fundamentally beyond our control. A reflection on the serenity prayer.

Religious Exploration
Unitarian Universalist Association: Religious Education
“We believe that faith is a journey we take together.
Religious education takes a lifetime. It happens both within and beyond a congregation’s walls. We support one another as individuals, families, and communities in an ongoing search for truth and meaning. We strive to guide one another—all ages among us—in religious questioning, personal change, and discovering ways to better live in faith.” http://www.uua.org/re
Here at First Parish in Milton we are working on some great things for the upcoming year. Spirit Play teachers are hard at work organizing and putting together wonderful stories for our young kids. A new curriculum for our Small Group Ministry classes, grades 3 through 6 will be starting in the fall. We will be combining 7th and 8th grade students for a class that will run “junior youth group” style which will transition into our OWL program in the spring. Our vibrant and energetic youth will continue to rock the world (as they always do) putting “our faith into action every day by daring to be real, showing acceptance and support, leading with courage, and acting for justice”. And we are really excited about our yearlong community service project.
More information to come soon!
We need all children and youth to register for Religious Exploration classes, so if you have a child or youth coming back in the fall. PLEASE REGISTER YOUR CHILD TODAY!

A Thank You Note to the Milton Alliance First Parish Church (the women’s group) for an Easter package. (1949)
7 Moss Street, Salford 7 (England)
22.4.49 (April 22, 1949)
Dear Ms. Baker,
I am writing to thank you for the lovely parcel which arrived this week. It was a lovely surprise and the contents were very much appreciated. The cookie mixture was quite a novelty, as we have nothing like it over here. We can get packets of mixture, but we have to add our fat and sugar, so they are not much use now that flour is off the ration.
We have two little girls, Catherine is 3-1/2 and Janet is nearly 2 and they were very pleased with their sweets, especially as they arrived during the last week of present ration period, when we are usually without sweets. Anyway, they are coming off the ration on Sunday, as they will be able to have a few more.
It appears from the label on the parcel that it has come from a church. I shall be glad if you will thank the people concerned and tell them how delighted were to receive it.
We belong to a Congregational Church and next week we are producing “Yeoman of the Guard”. The Society is made up mainly of members of the Church and we produce it in our school with a full orchestra. It will be a busy week, by everybody enjoys themselves and the proceeds are for the Church funds.
Enclosed is a photograph of our two children last summer.
Thank you once again for the very exceptional parcel.
With best wishes,
Yours sincerely,
Jessie Watters
