Lisa

This last Sunday, we centered on delight, both in worship and at our annual picnic. We shared in an interactive worship, inviting those gathered to visit various stations that suggested an angle of delight to explore: tasting, touching, hearing, seeing, creating (to name a few). One of the stations was dedicated to “delight in our faith” with an invitation to write something within our faith that one finds delightful. Here are the responses we gathered:

Respect for earth

Belonging to a loving community

Becoming a member of this loving and generous community

Being with everyone at church

Sense of community

My relationships

Feeling of belonging

The music during service, the warm community!

The beautiful music

Not only the light within but so too the light between

The community and joy within

Shared music to harmonize with beloved singers

History. Connection. I love the beautiful quilt of lives I’ve gotten to know

Trading life stories

Choice and openness to grow in faith

Support with times of need and sickness

Laughter at coffee hour

Delight continued at our annual picnic, organized by the membership committee. We enjoyed a wonderful pot luck luncheon, lovely music from many resident musicians, craft tables, and a rousing affirmation for Louise and all they have brought this year, sweetened by a cake congratulating them on completing their Master of Divinity (MDIV).

There is much to be grateful for at First Parish in Milton. Most precious, of course, is you, our faith community.

 Blessings Be, Rev. Lisa

UU Summer Fun

UU Summer Fun Registration!

It’s time to formally register for our UU summer fun! Follow this link to register. If you signed up on the “Express Interest” form, we still need you to officially register with this link! Per the recommendation of the Religious Education Committee, we are shifting our age range to also welcome preschoolers whose older siblings will also be attending our summer fun and/or who attend Spirit Play but may not be entering first grade. Please reach out to Louise (re@fpmilton.org) with questions about this new policy. We continue to want to be flexible and accommodating, while still prioritizing safety and a quality experience for all involved.

Extra hours available for special services and events throughout year. Pay is $20/hr, with paid training and a great network of experienced staff to help learn the job.

Do you know anyone looking for a part time job? Maybe a busy teen or college student who needs no hours during the school week? Please share with your networks!
