Leslie Macpherson Artinian and music by Tim Steele
Heaven on earth. Heaven knows. A slice of heaven. When we use the word, we generally aren’t talking about the afterlife. For UUs, “heaven” is a word rarely used in the literal sense. What about we thinking about, if not an afterlife? Come on Sunday to look into some of our history and perspective on the subject.

Put your “Faith in Action” on Tuesday, May 13th by planning to attend the 9th Annual UU Advocacy Day, sponsored by UU Mass Action, at the Arlington Street Church and the State House. This year we will be delivering wedding cupcakes to each of Massachusetts’ 200 Senators and Representatives in boxes which say: “Thank You for 10 Years of Marriage Equality! Now it’s time to raise the minimum wage, reform drug sentencing, and change our immigration policies.” Register and get info HERE.
General Assembly 2014 – Help create a First Parish banner for Opening Ceremonies! June 25-29, Providence, RI
The theme for General Assembly 2014 is Love Reaches Out.
General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Attendees worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process. Contact Kiki for more information.
A group of First Parish members have already registered for General Assembly. At the beginning of every GA, a colorful, joyful parade of banners kicks off the assembly, each one representing the churches and organizations present. It is carried by the members. Leslie MacPherson Artinian has volunteered to coordinate the creation but she needs others to help, particularly with the design. Please contact Leslie if you are interested in helping with this project.
Contact Leslie HERE.
Due to a variety of projects, this week, it may take a few days to answer your email. I should be caught up again by Monday. I appreciate your patience.
REMINDER: We all love being outside in this wonderful spring weather. It’s great we have space for the children to play. If your child is outside, you need to be outside too to make sure everyone stays safe. Climbing trees and tipping over benches are safety hazards.
Take a look at the Information Table for information on Ferry Beach, Camp Rowe and other summer programs at UU affiliated organizations.
You may have noticed we are getting a paint spruce up in the Link and in the Parish Hall foyer. Please thank our Building and Grounds team for the work that have done and will finish shortly!
