Crafty Artists and Designers Needed for Creation of Banner for General Assembly

In June, a group of First Parish members will be attending UU General Assembly, right in our own backyard in Providence, Rhode Island.

At the beginning of every GA, a colorful, joyful parade of banners kicks off the assembly, each one representing the churches and organizations present. It is carried by the members. It would be fabulous if First Parish could have its own banner to represent us. Leslie MacPherson Artinian has volunteered to coordinate the creation but she needs others to help, particularly with the design.

The banners vary from the quietly simple to over-the-top gorgeous. Anything goes. In addition to a design, we will need talented folks who can assemble it, either by sewing, applique, or hot glue guns. We also need someone who is good with construction to build the pole for it.

Here is a link to the pole design, and here’s a link to some banner ideas.

Contact Leslie for more info.

We are looking to add babysitters to our pool for Sunday mornings! Has your child recently completed the Certification for Babysitting? If he/she is interested in either being considered for helping in the nursery or getting on our list of babysitting referrals for parishioners, please let me know. The first step is to send a copy of the certificate to the office. Please contact me for further information.
