Annual Meeting This Sunday May 17th

The Annual Meeting will be a bit different this year. We will be hosting the Annual Meeting in the Meetinghouse. After worship on May 17, we will head outside for a church picture, then head back to the Meetinghouse for the Annual Meeting. Lunch will be in the Parish Hall after the meeting. Childcare- with an earlier lunch time- will be available during the meeting.

Hosting the meeting in the Meetinghouse allows members to attend via Zoom (and be able to vote, provided their camera is on) as well as provide listening devices to those who need them. For those attending by Zoom, we will be using the same link that we use for Sunday service. However, we will end the Zoom meeting after worship service, and then reopen the meeting- using the same link- approximately 10 minutes later for the Annual Meeting.

Sunday, May 17th Service

May Worship Theme: BEAUTY

RE Sunday: A Celebration of Our Year in RE

Worship Associate: Elise Hendricks

Social Hour: Lunch provided by Hospitality

Audio: Holden Driscoll

This week’s offering will go towards the service and ministry of First Parish.

Prayers – If you are attending the service on Zoom and would like a prayer included, please email Rev. Lisa at minister@fpmilton.org by 5:00pm on Saturday.

This Sunday is an important celebration of our church year. First we will center on Religious Exploration activities and volunteer recognition during our RE Sunday worship service. Then we will have an all church photo.

Many thanks to professional photographer Gretjen Helene for offering her expertise and talent to this endeavor. This will be the first congregational photo in over twelve years.

And then the Annual Meeting: democracy in action as part of our congregational life. Followed by a luncheon.

Please do note the details shared in this newsletter. I look forward to seeing you all this Sunday!

Blessings Be, Rev. Lisa

This Sunday cellist Ben Warzeski will be starting the worship service with a piece from the film KPOP DEMON HUNTERS called “Golden”.  The Meetinghouse Choir will be presenting a song from the popular musical INTO THE WOODS, called “Children Will Listen”. Carina Digianfilippo and Scott Ballantine will be singing a duet called “Will You Teach Me” by Eric W. Unruh, a composer from Wyoming who was commissioned to write this piece in 2004 in an arrangement for full choir.

Summer Services

Please consider sharing a piece of yourself with us this summer! A summer service doesn’t have to be your life story; you can choose one very specific topic and explore that. It can be personal or more academic. That’s the beauty of it—it’s completely up to you.

And we are here to provide as much help and support as you’d like. We have guidelines, a checklist, and a template for an order of worship. We’ll provide you with a worship assistant and a piano player if you want, as well.

Available dates are July 26, August 2, August 9, August 23.

Please contact Lisa White at lisawhite1250@gmail.com  if you’re interested.
