O come, O come, Emmanuel, 

and with your captive Children dwell. 

Give comfort to all exiles here, 

and to the aching heart bid cheer.  

Rejoice!  Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come with in as Love to dwell.

as joy that never yields to might.
