Circulating currents, glass-smooth calms, foaming rollers, towering waves, lapping ripples. Deep sea vents, underwater volcanoes, coral reefs, cold seas, warm water, the meeting of water and land. The sea has many characters. What has the the sea’s bounty and beauty brought you – joy, wonder, healing, life lessons? This week, we meditate together on “Gifts from the Sea.”

Below is a link to a video of the hymn we will be singing, “Blue Boat Home” by Peter Mayer.

News & Announcements

IS YOUR CHILD PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN RE THIS YEAR?

Dear friends– We on the RE Committee are so excited for the year ahead. We have a problem though: only a SMALL number of people have registered their kids so far, and we need this information ASAP to plan for classes and teacher pairings. PLEASE save us the trouble of having to reach out to you individually by using this link to register any child or youth that will be involved in RE and Youth Programming this coming year, ASAP! This is also your chance to honor the coop-nature of our program and raise your hand to volunteer to help out. With staff positions unfilled, we are doing as much as we can to fill the gaps, and as a result, we need your help more than usual!!! Thanks in advance! Any questions? Contact Jen Erbe Leggett, RE Chair, at jerbleg@gmail.com.

Cole Porter Concert with vocalist Jeff Stoodt

Saturday, August 10, 2013
2pm-3pm

Milton Puplic Library-Keys Community Room

Jeff Stoodt, the host of Milton cable TV’s “The Great American Songbook,” will present a one-hour program of Cole Porter songs in a cabaret setting, and will tell fascinating stories about the great composer. Accompanying Jeff will be pianist Jim Rice. A well-known musical arranger and director in theatrical circles, Rice is an excellent choice to play the library’s new piano in its public debut. This program is sponsored by The Friends of the Milton Public Library and light refreshments will be served. It is free and open to the public. Escape the heat and join us for an enjoyable hour of entertainment.
