This Week in Worship

June’s Worship Theme: Faith

Message from Rev. Lisa

I am told that church life slows down during the summer months at First Parish and that attendance on Sundays drops significantly. This gives us in the office some room to get to projects set aside in the busier months and to prep for the coming full service church year. Do know that the church office remains open and attentive during the week to Parish needs throughout the summer. There are no office hours on Sundays in the summer. Vacation schedules will be posted soon.

And although attendance is smaller on Sunday mornings in July and August, know that the worship committee has already scheduled every Sunday with interesting topics, many led by fellow parishioners. This is a time to get to know people within the community as they share a sermon that is within them. This year the summer services will be held in the Children’s Church with an earlier time to be determined. Stay tuned.

Summer is also a good time to begin reflective practices, as the calling of nature and of vacation time invites. I am facilitating a spiritual writing workshop ( one session per month) and will be scheduling a walking meditation retreat . If you are interested in either engagement, feel free to contact me.

May you have time this summer to center into your journey, finding it full of surprises and joy, learning and growth.

Blessings,
Rev. Lisa
