This Week in Worship & Religious Education

Sunday, March 3
Holy Unexpected!
Rev. Parisa Parsa

We begin our month of exploring the theme of Miracles by reflecting on the outrageous, comical, and poignant story of Jonah. Our worship will conclude with open communion.

Religious Education

Spirit Play I (ages 3-5) will meet in their classroom downstairs, where they will her about The Life Cycle of the Butterfly.

Passages (2nd grade) will meet in the third classroom downstairs to explore the third UU principle: acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations.

Grades k-1, 3-6 will begin the month with a worship service in the Children’s Church.

Neighboring Faiths (7th grade) will be on a field trip to the Shambala Center.

Are you interested in becoming a member of First Parish?

We will be welcoming and celebrating new members during a service in March, and we hope that all who attend services, social events, and spiritual development programs will consider making their membership official at this time. If you are interested, please contact Jamez Terry at membership@fpmilton.org and plan to attend the sessions listed below.

The Story of Unitarian Universalism

Sunday, March 3, 12-2 pm in the Chase Parlor

What do we believe? Where did we come from? How did we get here? And why should we care? These are important human questions with particular relevance for Unitarian Universalists – ours is the “Living Tradition” after all! Only when we know our history can we benefit from its inspiration. Lunch will be provided. Please RSVP to membership@fpmilton.org.

Living Unitarian Universalism at First Parish

Wednesday, March 13, 7-9 pm in the Parish Hall

This session will provide an introduction to First Parish and to the meaning of membership here. How does the church operate? What resources and programs are available to you? How can you contribute to the life of the church? How is First Parish contributing to the wider community? Learn the answers to all of these questions, and ask some of your own.

THANK YOU TO THE MASSACHUSETTS CULTURAL COUNCIL!

This year’s Common Hearth series for intergenerational spiritual development has featured an evening of storytelling with Len Cabral and an interactive presentation by the Massachusetts Faces of Homelessness Speakers Bureau. Each of these programs was supported in part by a grant from the Milton Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. Thanks MCC!

[Note to whoever is preparing the Link and printed announcements: We MUST print the above statement and use their logo in order to receive the grant funds.]
