Message from Rev. Lisa

What a joy it was to celebrate Christmas Eve at First Parish Milton with you! You folks know how to sing carols! The talent was abundant in the Christmas Pageant and the choir did, indeed, lend angelic voices to the 10 pm service. Many thanks to Joel Hiller for his direction and original music and for Becky Stiles, Laurel Whitehouse and the Religious Education crew for orchestrating the pageant. Much appreciation also goes out to Tim Steele, who not only provided his musical mastery for Christmas Eve, but showed up in pajamas the next day to play for the Christmas Day service. And of course, the office staff, providing the special orders of service and a multitude of support efforts for the weekend. It is my hope that holiday cheer has visited you all in one way or another.

We are coming into quite the new year in 2017. A new administration in national politics calls us to pay attention to inevitable changes and policy recommendations. As members of a democracy, it is up to us to participate, lend our voices and develop our civic consciousness. We are also continuing here at First Parish amidst a new administration, with the Minister, Director of Religious Education and Administrative Assistant still learning the ropes and settling into First Parish Life. As the democratic process is one of the principles of Unitarian Universalist congregational life, we recognize that we form the community, we steward its resources, which come from each of us.

Exciting times that need all of our input. Fruitful times to create the community we want to flourish.

Blessings Be,

Rev. Lisa
