CURRENT EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS: Pancake breakfast: While students are getting ready to go back to school with pencils, pens, and notebooks, First Parish is getting ready to go back to church with pancakes. The church marks the end of summer and the resumption of regular church services with a free pancake breakfast on Sunday, September 12, from 9-10am (just before the worship service at 10:30am). Pancakes, juice, coffee, and other breakfast fixings will be served by members of the First Parish Youth Group. All are welcome. September 6 – Labor Day – Church office will be closed. Register now for Religious Education!! This year we will be recognizing children's birthdays in the monthly newsletter. We cannot recognize your child's birthday unless we have a registration form for this year. Don't miss out on this opportunity! If you have not already signed your children up for RE classes this fall you can do so online at http://firstparish.homestead.com/re_registration.html It helps us SO MUCH to have these forms completed as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact Jamez Terry at reassistant@fpmilton.org Church photo directory – This fall, Olan Mills is coming to First Parish to take photos for our new Membership Photo Directory, and we want to make sure that everyone is included! This program comes at no cost to the church budget, and everyone who participates will receive a free copy of the directory, as well as a free 8x10 portrait. (You will have the option to buy additional prints, but there is no charge or purchase required.) September sittings will be held on Friday the 24th from 2pm – 9:30pm and Saturday the 25th from 9am – 5pm. For those unable to make it on these dates, additional sittings will be scheduled in November. You can reserve yours now by calling Jamez Terry, Membership Coordinator, at 617-698-6329 or emailing membership@fpmilton.org Sign-up sheets and instructions are also available before and after summer services. Please don’t wait to schedule your sitting. The directory wouldn’t be complete without you! Music notes: Meetinghouse Choir "Welcome to a New Year Potluck Dinner and Sing", Friday September 10, beginning at 6:30pm, at the home of Patricia and Mark Ostrem. Common Hearth is an adult program that fosters spiritual growth and community building at First Parish. It is held on the second Wednesday of each month from October through April, and the formal program is preceded by a fellowship supper.
